Helping at Home

One August afternoon I was talking with Mom... we got talking about doing things around the house and I mentioned how ironic it is that when you're a kid it's like pulling teeth to help out around.  Now that I'm older and hundreds of miles away I would be so glad to come and help around the house!  This conversation led to me flying to Utah for an extended weekend.  I may not have gotten a lot done around the house, but I got to see a few of my favorite and most important people!

Another reason for the trip was Dad's birthday!  It was wonderful to be there to celebrate with him!
We went fishing (I had two on the line, but didn't bring any all the way in) and just enjoyed the outdoors.  I have to thank Alex who was so patient and helped me untangle my line... I messed it up pretty bad at one point!  Love you all it was so good to see you!  And just remember I really would come help around the house anytime!

And apparently I had a thing with tilting my head....

Sweet Summer

Great views of San Fran

Diving tigers

Rough roller coasters
Before...                                               and after!
Nights under the stars... (Movie night in the park: Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark... oh yeah!)

Just a few naps... (Tim always made sure I was nice and warm!)

Ice cream... at Fentons! YUMM YUMMM! (see Pixar's UP for details)

Camping at Brannan Island... (Nothing quite like the sound of the freeway to lull you to sleep amid the dead grass.  I know you're all dying to go back! The good things: Friends, having a fire, amazing food... basically nothing pertaining specifically to Brannan Island.)

So long sweet summer!

Vacation vs. Mosquitoes

The air was swarming with the little buggers.  The heat and humidity were so far from our breezy, 70 degree home.... And the battle was on Vacation vs. Mosquitoes

This equation sums things up:  (Family > Mosquitoes + Humidity)= Great Vacation

The mosquitoes had no chance against the family factor... Family= Great Vacation no matter what!

Where? You may ask was this vacation (and the mosquitoes so you can avoid them)... It all went down in America's heartland- the great state of South Dakota.

We enjoyed:

A good old fashion Midwest 4th of July including: our own fireworks (the kind you can't find on either coast), a hometown parade, a festival in the park, and lots of this:

Some of the things I had during childhood vacations in Huron.  Walking the dogs, paddle boats, and ice cream at Zesto.

Grandma and Grandpa's 60th Anniversary including: A sweet limo ride!

Their marriage is a great example of love and commitment.
HAPPY 60th ANNIVERSARY!
Partyin' in the limo!  We'll get a limo when we celebrate 60 years too!

Visiting the Winter Quarters Temple and visitors center.
Two layovers in Phoenix with this to look at:

Makes my heart yearn for AZ sunsets... they're hard to beat, even without a cloud in the sky.

And now we're missing these faces!

Not Pictured- Still  Missed: Ben and Elaine, Perry, Joseph, Grandma and Grandpa, and all the Burnison relatives.

We love you all!  It was great to see lots of you this summer.  Hopefully we can see you again soon.

Loving you always,

Margo
