2008 Recap!

I feel like I need to do a recap of 2008! It was a major year in our life and needs some blog space.
January 08- a grand month...

New Year's Eve 2008 at Temple Square
Beautiful lights!!! (Sadly we didn't see them in 2008 - that makes this year a must!)

5 cents to pet Bob- Snow day in Logan Ut!
                            Meet Bob the turtle.
but February was even better. One year ago today Tim proposed... and I said yes!

Thankfully February flew by quickly and it was a whirlwind through March...
April (including Megan and Perry's wedding in D.C.!)....

and finally May came!
May 3, 2008:the best day of the year and the beginning of the best years!

It was a perfect day!

We headed to Arizona to enjoy the summer sun!
Eight hours of sun Monday- Saturday... guess we couldn't get enough of it.

In some spare time we left our oasis (San Lagos apartment see below) to attend a couple D-Backs baseball games and see the sights! With shopping forays and family visits we made the most of the summer.

Rooting for the HOME TEAM! Go D-BACKS!

A visit from Mom/ Mother-in-law!
August 29 we drove through the night to find relief from the heat in Provo at 75 degrees! It was wonderful to be back!
We have loved putting together our home. Over the summer we had a furnished apartment... it was nice and we loved it when it came time to move. But making decisions and creating our own look has been a grand. Our parents are to thank for many of the larger pieces and we are grateful they have helped get us started!
Creating is very relaxing for me... And Tim is always a great sport and usually will jump into any project with me. If he doesn't jump in he always provides encouragement.
I started BYU on my birthday. Tim made sure our fall was completed in true blue fashion, we went to light the Y (with lots of freshmen... it was fun!) and faithfully attended home football games.

September also brought a new addition to the family. Parker Dickson was born on September 19, 2008 and became the first grandbaby of the family! It has been wonderful to watch him grow (thanks to facebook...) and to see and feel the joy he brings to the world!
October... I know I'm flying through the months, but I feel good that I'm letting you all in on some of what we have done.

The major October event was a Halloween party! (not really that “major” but a lot of fun)... I love an excuse to get dressed up : )

                                       Arrgh!
November was a month of thanksgiving! I am grateful for my family and that we were able to gather together in groups. Tim and I enjoyed time with Mom, Dad, Alex, Kathy, Floyd, Matt, and Jenny for Thanksgiving. Jenny had pulled out old photos from Thanksgivings past... it was grand to go through them and reminisce.
December was a full month and deserves a post of it's own... look forward to that next week!

Cheers!

Hello family and friends! We decided to join the rest of you in cyber-world... however unlike others who recently started blogging or have renewed their commitment to.... me actually creating a post is not exactly the fruit of a New Year's resolution. It is really more the fruit of a long time goal.... In all honesty the main reason my plans for blogging have translated into this is because of an assignment for my business communication class. It's great when something that you have wanted to do for a while becomes a graded assignment! Now I'm just waiting for the class requirement to go on a three month (all expenses paid) European exploration. This of course would end with an optional assignment of either a jaunt to Alaska or a pitstop in Africa (for bonus points of course). Let me know if you find any classes demanding this course work. In the end I guess it's not really what gets you going that matters as much as the fact that you actually did something. So cheers to the New Year! Cheers to thoughts to share, people to love, and a beautiful life to live!
